While the pandemic has changed the way of life for everyone, it has also pushed us to stay connected in creative ways. With the success of our Easter-Grams last year during the outbreak of Covid-19, the Humane Society of Cambria County is excited to bring this event back for a second year. We will be teaming up with the Easter Bunny to visit our community of Cambria County Friday, April 2nd and Saturday, April 3rd.

The Easter Bunny will again be accompanied by a special furry friend, an adoptable dog of the Humane Society of Cambria County. “We hope by including our adoptable animals of the shelter, we will increase their chances of finding a furever family and home!” said Jessica Vamos, Executive Director.

Those who wish to send an Easter-Gram to someone or an organization, like your children, a neighbor down the street, a loved one residing in a nursing home, or your co-workers, are asked to make a $15 minimum donation to the Humane Society of Cambria County. Easter-Grams will be restricted to Cambria County residents, and will include a visit from the Easter Bunny and an adoptable Easter Dog to the tune of ‘Here Comes Peter Cottontail!’ Candy and pet goodies will be handed out. Make a request here: Request an Easter-Gram!

Requests can be made up through Wednesday, March 31st at 8:00 p.m. Requests made after this time may not be fulfilled. You will receive a confirmation e-mail with your specific scheduled time no later than Thursday, April 1st at 8:00 a.m.

All visits will follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention social distancing guidelines by remaining outside of all buildings and homes. For the safety of the community, those who receive visits from the Easter Bunny and his adoptable doggie sidekick are encouraged to practice social distancing, and will not be permitted to pet the dog.

The Humane Society of Cambria County aims to bring some normalcy to those who are unable to practice their typical Easter Day celebrations as well as to create a new tradition with our community. Full event details are available at www.cambriacountyhumanesociety.com/events.
