Dear HSCC Supporters & Animal Lovers Alike,

GivingTuesday is a global movement of generosity, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities, and ultimately the world. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past 8 years, this idea has inspired hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Please join the Humane Society of Cambria County this year as we kick off our annual Holiday Campaign on GivingTuesday: December 1, 2020! You may donate to our fundraiser, here: https://www.facebook.com/donate/862016077673111/

It goes without saying that we all have been affected in one way or another from Covid-19. This year has been challenging for many people and for many different reasons. It is during these unprecedented times that our lifesaving efforts have become more important than ever.

Although some changes have interrupted our daily operations and life here at the shelter, we have pushed through. Not even a pandemic of this magnitude has stopped us from placing our animals in adoptive and foster homes, caring for those pets still in our facility, and helping animals and pet owners in need. We remain committed to continuing our mission during this difficult time.

Throughout 2020 we have:

  • Supplied nearly 10,000 pounds of dog and cat food to pets in need across Cambria County with the launch of our Emergency Pet Food Pantry.
  • Placed over 500 Animals into furever and foster homes through our Adoption and Foster programs.
  • Returned 100 lost pets to their owners.
  • Provided a safe haven for approximately 600 homeless pets across our county with the assistance of our Animal Control Officer.
  • Remained fully staffed to provide the essential care, interaction, and socialization to our current shelter animals.

We have witnessed the powerful lifesaving efforts that can be accomplished when working with our community. We are encouraged by your support in action throughout this difficult year.

With the challenges of this year, we need our community now more than ever! With regularly planned fundraisers cancelled, our financial future is uncertain. Our critical work can only exist with the backing of funding, and our funding can only exist with the support of our community.

Please consider joining us today in helping animals and pet owners in need by making a donation. They need you now more than ever.

#GivingTuesday

Sincerely,
Jessica Vamos
