The Humane Society of Cambria County is excited to announce the arrival of 6 fourteen-week old Shepherd mixed breed puppies and 8 thirteen-week old mixed breed puppies from the state of Texas tomorrow, Wednesday July 21, 2021 to be placed for adoption.
We are now accepting applications on all puppies. Puppies will be available beginning Sunday, July 25th. They are not viewable to the public. Visits will be permitted with approved applications ONLY and set up by appointment. Genders are currently unknown of all puppies, and will be released upon arrival.
**VERY IMPORTANT: If you would like to apply to adopt you may complete our online application: or fill one out at the shelter during business hours. Pre-approved applicants must contact the shelter to request that their current application be applied towards these specific puppies. Applications will be placed and processed in the order they are received. You are NOT permitted to turn in an application for a specific puppy. Only a limited amount of applications will be accepted. Once your application is processed and approved, you will be contacted to set up a date and time for you to come and meet with the available puppies and adopt the best fit for you. Application processing time may take longer than usual due to an increased number of applications. Appointments will be made with approved applications in the order they were received. Once all puppies are adopted, no further applicants will be contacted.**
The Humane Society of Cambria County is proud to partner with Freedom Rides of Texas to help alleviate the overpopulation of domestic pets within Texas. Currently, shelters and rescues across the state are overcrowded and overburdened as they face the height of “puppy season.” Many animals are at risk without the necessary resources to relieve this issue. Fortunately, organizations like Freedom Rides of Texas are assisting by transporting these dogs and puppies to areas where there is higher demand. Here, in Cambria County, we have an increased number of adopters in search of puppies to add to their families allowing us to help and, literally, save the lives of these puppies.
During this time, we will be accepting donations to help cover the costs of care for the puppies. Donations can be made in person, over the phone, by mail. or online at
Please understand that we will try our best to answer all questions and requests, but due to the high volume, we may not be able to. If you have serious interest, please complete an application and stop at the shelter during our open business hours.
We thank you for understanding and cooperating with us so that we may find the most pawsome furever home for these pups!
